Taylor Swift’s Rumored Boyfriend Matty Healy Under Fire For Laughing At Racial Slurs Targeting Her New Collaborator Ice Spice

The three-day New Jersey concert of Taylor Swift was a mesmerizing time for the Swifties! During the concerts, there were many announcements and adorable moments captured. Taylor announced the deluxe edition of her chart-busting album ‘Midnights,’ with features like Ice Spice. She even brought her on stage to perform the ‘Karma’ remix with the rapper.

Recently, Taylor Swift parted ways with her long-time boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. The rumors started swirling that Swift might be dating ‘The 1975’ band member Matty Healy. Healy was present at several shows of the ‘Eras Tour.’ The singer even slyly gave a shout-out to him. But Swifties have been very upset about their favorite artist’s new relationship. Healy has been a problematic personality for a long time, and now a podcast incident has resurfaced after the Ice Spice remix, where he was seen enjoying the host’s hurling racial comments about the ‘Munch’ rapper.

Matty Healy enjoys social media a bit too much, and it has landed him in hot water many times. In 2014, he was accused of Islamophobia when he tweeted that “Isis is cutting little girls’ heads off, and you want to challenge a non-religious, humanist perspective? I don’t understand the world at all.” Matty also received heavy flak after he responded to a 19-year-old Muslim girl who criticized him.

In February 2023, he appeared on the now-defunct “The Adam Friedland Show’ podcast and made fun of Ice Spice’s ethnicity. The rapper is of Dominican and Nigerian ethnicities. The hosts, Nick Mullen and Adam Friedland, made a lot of racist jokes, which included calling her a “chubby Chinese lady” and “Inuit Spice Girl.” They later mocked her in Chinese, Hawaiian, and Japanese accents, to which Matty Healy did nothing but laugh at.

Matty Healy received a heavy online backlash for his behavior on ‘The Adam Friedland Show’ podcast. Lady Gaga‘s frequent collaborator, YungBlud, criticized the ‘About You’ crooner. He tweeted, “Love listening to three privileged white dudes sit around and objectify a young Black female artist who’s blowing up.”

Later, Matty Healy apologized to Ice Spice during his concert in New Zealand. He later tweeted, “I never meant to hurt anybody. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you and, Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued, it’s cause I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d*ck.”

He continued, “I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry. I don’t want anything to be misconstrued as mean. I don’t mind being a bit of a joker . . . but I don’t want to be perceived as mean-hearted.”
