Will There Be ‘Ozark’ Season 5?
As of now, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding ‘Ozark‘ Season 5. The makers, along with the streaming platform Netflix, have not revealed any information yet. ‘Ozark‘ Season 4 was released with the intention of making it the final season. The show’s lead star Jason Bateman stated on ‘The Jimmy Fallon Show‘ that Season 4 was designed in a way with 14 episodes so that it could be aired in two halves.
Season 4 Part 2 appears to be the culmination of Jason, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner’s arcs under the leadership of showrunner Chris Mundy. We can’t rule out the possibility that the show will return for a final season. The most one can hope for new ‘Ozark‘ episodes is in April 2023. But nothing can be relied on unless there is an official announcement. For now, season 4 is the end.

What To Expect If ‘Ozark’ Season 5 Happens
The plausible cast, if there is ‘Ozark‘ Season 5, is a dicey thing. However, it is assumed that all the central characters will return. This will include Jason Bateman, of course, who plays Marty Bryde. Apart from Jason, Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde, Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte Byrde, Skylar Gaertner as Jonah Byrde, and Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore, are likely to return. Not only this, it is also predicted that Jordana Spiro, Jason Butler, Charlie Tahan, etc will also make a comeback. But, it’s a far-off dream.
Why Did The Show End?
The show’s “supersized” fourth and final season consisted of 14 episodes, with each half airing in 2020 and 2021. In a statement at the time, ‘Ozark‘ showrunner Chris Mundy exclaimed, “We’re so glad Netflix recognized the necessity of giving Ozark additional time to complete the Byrdes’ saga appropriately.”
Since then, in an interview with The Daily Beast, Mundy clarified that Netflix had the final say over the show’s cancelation, but he’d made it clear that he needed sufficient notice to write a proper finale. According to Mundy, the decision to end with four seasons was mutually beneficial. He said “I’ve been talking to them about trying to end it in five [seasons], and they weren’t sure if they wanted to do four or five. Netflix is the one that hit upon the idea of doing four seasons but a longer order, with the idea always being that it would split.”
