The Netflix comedy series ‘The Gentlemen’ is a spin-off series created by Guy Ritchie for his 2019 film ‘The Gentlemen‘. The older movie revolved around a cannabis mogul who planned to sell his profitable marijuana empire in the hopes of retirement. However, chaos ensues with various people trying to get control over his empire.
The film features a fast-paced narrative, witty dialogue, and an ensemble cast including Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Hugh Grant, and Colin Farrell. All this led to the film being well-liked by its audience and everyone wanting more. Moreover, Netflix’s version aired on 7 March 2024 and became a big success.

‘The Gentlemen’ Season 1 Finale Explained
‘The Gentlemen’s season finale ends where the season premiere began. In the finale, Eddie and Susie successfully navigate a complex bidding process to take over Bobby Glass’s drug empire. However, it was revealed that the bidding war was actually orchestrated by Bobby. This was done by him to reunite Eddie and Susie and hand over the business to them.
Despite their victory, Eddie and Susie decide to eliminate Henry Collins, a former associate involved in violent acts against Susie’s family. Eddie, who is now as established as a crime leader, carries out the task. So, despite denying liking the ‘gangster lifestyle’ Eddie, in the end, was the best at it. Furthermore, the ending left some loose ends, particularly regarding Bobby and Stanley’s future, hinting at potential future seasons.

Will There Be ‘The Gentlemen’ Season 2 On Netflix?
After the ending insinuating that there was more to come in the future people were quick to question whether there was a second season for the show. Netflix has not yet announced a second season. The head of worldwide television Miramax had claimed that Season 1’s performance would determine if there would be a season 2.
It was also revealed that there were no talks about a season 2 on set. “Nothing was ever discussed of a second season. But when you’re in the last episode of the first season a really great scene, I love Ray Winstone then you know, we have the possibility of going further. And I think the show does as well,” Giancarlo Esposito, who portrays Stanley Johnston in ‘The Gentlemen‘, told Digital Spy.
