‘Stranger Things’ is one of the most popular and successful shows on Netflix. While fans love how the show’s creators – Matt and Ross Duffer – have added mysterious twists and deadly turns to the storyline, Millie Bobby Brown has a complaint. The actress is a mainstay on the series and plays the role of Eleven AKA El.
Brown expressed her disappointment about the show not killing off more characters and went on to call ‘Stranger Things’ creators Duffer Brothers “sensitive Sallies”. Before the premiere of Season 4 Volume 2, she talked about wanting to see the show take the ‘Game Of Thrones’ route. Now, the Duffer Brothers have responded to Brown’s accusations in the most cheeky manner.

‘Stranger Things’ Creators React To Millie Bobby Brown Calling Them “Sensitive Sallies”
The Duffer Brothers defended themselves against the accusations of being too sensitive to kill off the main characters. The show’s body count has been quite low, and for them, increasing it would change the fundamental nature of ‘Stranger Things’. The duo talked about this on ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast.
Millie Bobby Brown had expressed her desire to see more characters being killed in an interview with The Wrap in May. Her co-star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on the show, on the other hand, was afraid of the move. He suggested a “massacre scene” to kill off half the cast since it had gotten “way too big”. Brown then intervened and said it was difficult as the Duffer brothers are “sensitive Sallies”.
“We need to be ‘Game of Thrones’, we need to have the mindset of ‘Game of Thrones’,” she said. The HBO series became infamous for killing off main characters and often in the most brutal ways.
Responding to Brown’s statement, Matt Duffer said, “We’re not ‘Game of Thrones’. This is Hawkins, it’s not Westeros.” As far as killing more characters is concerned, Matt explained, “Believe us, we’ve explored all of it, all options in the writing room.” He then pointed out that killing a major character like Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard, would be “depressing”.
He further emphasized that every death on the show serves both “thematic” and “narrative purpose”, and helps in taking the story forward. “This is me basically defending myself against these Millie Bobby Brown accusations that I’m a sensitive Sally, and explaining there’s logic behind it and has nothing to do with my sensitivity. So there you go, Millie,” he concluded.
What To Expect From Season 5
‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 ended with a thrilling and bloody reveal of the mystery of the Upside Down. Eleven’s time and experience at the Hawkins lab was all tied up to the origin of Vecna. The Duffer brothers have already confirmed a time jump, though they haven’t revealed the details. But it seems the kids will have to get back in action as their town burns. Ross Duffer has already said that Will is “a big part and focus” of the final season. Meanwhile, Max Mayfield’s life hangs in the balance after she was attacked by Vecna.
The season four finale of the series was more than two hours long. It has been revealed that season five’s finale will be long as well, but not more than the previous season’s finale runtime. The Duffer brothers are also working on a spin-off of ‘Stranger Things’. “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of ‘Stranger Things’; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes,” they confirmed.
