Netflix has been a streaming platform that has brought the best shows and films to the audience over the years. This includes ‘The Crown’, which has aired for five seasons. Despite being a controversial show, ‘The Crown’ has been able to pull a large number of viewers ever since it premiered.
‘The Crown’ has also been a recipient of different accolades. Although criticism has been focused on all seasons of the series, it has also been praised for its performances. Certain events have been fictionalized about the royals and a few things have been left out, including the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Why ‘The Crown’ Ignored The Wedding Of Prince Charles And Princess Diana?
According to Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor, the producers preferred to ignore Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding because it did not have any relevance to Queen Elizabeth II, the lead character. Corrin stated that the storyline was about Princess Diana and her impact on the Queen.
Moreover, the budget restriction was a possible reason why the wedding was left out of the show. Because it was a royal wedding, filming for the same would have been too expensive for ‘The Crown‘. But Diana’s wedding look was also created and a sneak peek of the rehearsal was featured.
Another reason that is being speculated is the Covid-19 pandemic. The fourth season of the series was wrapped up in a short period because of the pandemic and there is no information about the scenes that were left out.

What Else Did The Show Miss?
‘The Crown Season 4’ ignored the mental health problems of Princess Diana. She had approached one of her friends to appear for an interview for Andrew Morton in 1991, who was working on a biography based on her. While speaking to Morton, Diana revealed that she threw herself down the stairs when she was expecting a child. She suffered some bruises but nothing happened to the baby.
Although Diana and Camilla’s lunch was featured in the show, the show ignored the event where Diana had a conversation with Camilla related to her affair with Prince Charles. The conversation between Charles and Camilla during a phone call was left out alongside the birth of Prince Harry.
