Dwayne Johnson Reveals The Reason Behind The Postponement Of “Black Adam”

Dwayne Johnson, commonly known as The Rock, is an actor, businessman, and former professional wrestler from the United States. The former wrestler will finally make his debut as the monarch of Kahndaq in Black Adam, after being cast in the role over a decade ago. The Justice Society of America, which includes Doctor Fate, Atom-Smasher, Hawkman, and Cyclone, will accompany the titular anti-hero.

Recently, DC postponed the film. With fans eagerly anticipating the highly-anticipated movie, one Black Adam producer has explained why the film has been delayed.

Why Did Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam Take So Long to Arrive?

Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia explained why the Dwayne Johnson movie was pushed back from July 29 to October 21.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, she said, “I think we’re just in a world right now where there was a huge and understandable freeze-up when the pandemic hit and a lot of productions were put on hold. Now that the industry has really roared back, the pipeline for VFX is so jammed.” She further added,Obviously, all these superhero movies just require so much VFX, and we’re just in a situation where the majority of the VFX houses are just completely swamped with work.”

The VFX hold-up, according to the Black Adam producer, prompted “seismic shifts across the board” as vendors try to “accommodate the amount of VFX they have to do.

She went on to say, “I think that’s why you saw seismic shifts across the board, and you continue to see those giant properties just moving further down the line. And it’s just a matter of the vendors being able to accommodate the amount of VFX they have to do, the shots that have to be done.

The president of Seven Bucks Productions went on to praise the VFX studios. He expressed his hope that “things are starting to calibrate,” resulting in “fewer shifts down the line.”

He claimed, “They’re busting their ass, and we’re so grateful for all those VFX houses. It feels like things are starting to calibrate, and I think you’ll start to feel less shifts down the line.”

The Age Of Delays Comes To A Halt

Visual effects are abundant in today’s blockbusters, with the superhero genre being the most notorious for its use of CGI. Contrary to common belief, few big studios create their own visual effects. Most commonly, they contract out the work to private visual effects businesses.

Since the pandemic, many people have been compelled to work from home as workplace capacities have been cut to allow for social separation. Delays should become less common as they begin to catch up on their workload.

Fans have had to endure significant delays in recent years, ranging from days to years. Because of the consistent output of content from studios. It hasn’t been any large gaps in content for DC and Marvel fans since 2020. Hopefully, there won’t be any in the future.
