The billionaire and now proud owner of Twitter Elon Musk has been storming Twitter with new changes. For a long time, Musk was teasing a takeover of the social media platform and finally, he did so in October 2022. Though he announced the news of the acquisition in April, the takeover was halted due to the uncertainty of data over the bots and fake accounts.
But, later, due to constant delays in completing the transaction, Twitter dragged the Tesla owner into court. Now that he has completely acquired Twitter for $44 billion, he has a cryptic message for the spam bots.

Since completing the historic $44 billion Twitter deal, the SpaceX owner has been on a spree of radical changes. As soon as he acquired the microblogging platform, Musk dethroned important executives including the CEO Parag Agrawal. Next, he introduced a sum of $8 to be paid for the accounts to get a blue tick verification. The most sudden move of all, which people anticipated was the mass layoffs that he implemented due to the supposed loss of $4 million every day.
Two of the major hindrances for Elon even before buying the social media giant were spam bots and fake accounts. He is taking strict actions on accounts that are “imitating” other people without mentioning that it is a parody accounts. Many users had their accounts suspended for it. Another problem was that of the spam bots. The problem was so huge that he halted the buy because Twitter did not provide information about the spam bots. The CEO Suspended $8 Subscription
Elon Musk introduced the $8 monthly subscription for acquiring the blue tick and verifying an account. But, the move backfired on him since many accounts, deemed to be spam, flooded the social media platform acquiring the blue tick by paying $8. Earlier, the blue tick verified celebrities, politicians, athletes, artists, entrepreneurs, and other eminent figures.
The move was executed to retain the advertisers who were pulling out affecting the revenue of the app. However, the $8 move failed for the business mogul, and he dropped the idea. Now, he has introduced an “official tag” starting on Friday giving back the tag to some users on the platform.
While he was in the process of acquiring Twitter, he recruited Emilio Ferrara and others to study the important problem that plagued the platform. Emilio talked about how to make Twitter a better place. He said, “The bigger picture in my mind is: How do we make Twitter a better place for everybody? The value of the platform as a societal experience, as a collective place to have civilized discourse and talk freely without interference from nefarious accounts.”
