‘House Of The Dragon’ And ‘Rings Of Power’ To Continue Shooting Season 2 Amid Writers Strike

The Writers Guild of America strike has affected the progress of the upcoming seasons of several shows alongside the ones that are under development. WGA disclosed on May 1, 2023, that more than 10,000 members will halt their work from the next day.

While the strike has led to the loss of billions in the past, the same is going to happen this time as well. But despite all these, the second seasons of ‘House of the Dragon’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ have entered the filming phase.

The Progress Of ‘House Of The Dragon’ And ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’

The second season of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is being filmed in the UK but it won’t be affected because of the WGA strike. Around 19 days of principal photography are left for Season 2 and showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay won’t be able to check on the production due to the rules imposed because of the Writers Guild of America strike.

Talking about ‘House of the Dragon’, the filming process for the second season is going on in the UK. The best part here is that the writing process was wrapped up before the Writers Guild of America strike was announced.

For now, there is no clarity on how the producers are going to handle the situation if the strike gets extended for a longer period. It must be noted that no changes can be made to the scripts for now considering that it is impossible because of the strike.
