In the last six months, gun violence has greatly increased all over America. Despite the huge number of protests against it, the number of shootings keeps on increasing. Yet again, another shootout took place in Highland Park on July 4.
The gunman killed at least six people in the process. According to the police, they already identified the man in question. Stars like Rachel Brosnahan and Richard Marx have reacted strongly to the news.

The Highland Park Shootout Terrifies Americans Again
On July 4, a gunman on a rooftop opened fire during a parade at Highland Park. The shootout caused hundreds of marchers, parents with strollers, and children on bicycles to run away absolutely terrified. Six people were killed in the shooting and three were injured as per the police. The cops arrested the suspect after a long search. According to them, it is a man in his 20s named Robert E. Crimo.
Authorities shed some light on the incident at a press conference held on Monday evening. They said the North Chicago officer was the first one to spot Crimo who is also a rapper and goes by the name Awake the Rapper. He ran while the police chased him and was eventually stopped in Lake Forest. “He was taken into custody without incident and will be taken to the Highland Park police department”, said chief Lou Jogmen of the Highland Park Police. There has been no filing of charges yet.

Rachel Brosnahan and Richard Marx, who grew up near the location, took to Twitter to share their opinions on the matter. ‘The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel’ star, Brosnahan wrote, “I grew up in Highland Park and this parade is a highlight of the year for so many families. I’m sick to my stomach every time news like this comes out, but I don’t wish the pit in your stomach as you call your family and friends to make sure everyone is okay on anyone. No words.”

Richard Marx tweeted, “My heart is always broken by these constant mass shootings no matter where they occur but today I’m extra heartbroken. And extra angry at the senselessness.” Even authors, reporters, and comedians voiced out against the tragedy at Highland Park.
