‘The Conjuring‘ universe is currently one of the most successful horror franchises so far. Ever since the first film was released in 2013, the franchise has managed to collect around $2 billion at the box office.
Although ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ received mixed reviews, the makers have already greenlit a sequel last year. A release date has not been disclosed so far but possibly it will take some time to arrive as the makers must assure that they live up to the expectations of the audience. Now the question is, will there be ‘The Conjuring 5‘?

Will ‘Conjuring 4’ Be The Last Film In The Horror Franchise?
James Wan is the man who started ‘The Conjuring’ Universe and it is obvious that he will have all the answers regarding the future installments in the franchise. While speaking to Collider last month, Wan was asked about the future of the franchise and about the next sequel to ‘The Conjuring.’
Wan said that it is a franchise that he has always loved to work on and that the creative team takes care of everything when they pen down a story based on Ed and Lorraine Warren. He was questioned if the franchise will end with ‘Conjuring 4’ and he replied by saying that he has no idea and that it might or might not happen.

‘Conjuring 4′: Plot And Cast Details
The makers have currently preferred to remain silent in terms of the storyline for ‘Conjuring 4.’ The third film concluded in 1981 and the fourth one is expected to take place in the same era. Because the Warrens have investigated a large number of cases linked to the supernatural, they could serve as the basic storyline for the upcoming sequel.
They investigated another case that happened in 1986 which also served as an inspiration for ‘The Haunting in Connecticut’, which was released in 2009. The Warrens were also hired to investigate the Smurl haunting in 1986 and this can also perfectly suit the storyline.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to return as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Their daughter Judy was portrayed by Sterling Jerins in the first two films and McKenna Grace was brought as a replacement in ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, which was released in 2019. The rest of the details regarding the cast members have not been revealed yet but we can expect to see new faces this time.
