Lawyer Camille Vasquez received much attention after she headed the legal team that successfully defended Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard in court. Since then, she has been representing Depp in all of his legal matters.
She is currently making herself available for interviews in order to speak about the post-trial process and the effects that it has had on the legal team. Over the last few weeks, Amber Heard’s legal team has submitted a typical appeal, to which Vazquez and her legal team have replied by filing their own appeal.

Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Camille Vasquez Explains Why He Opposed Amber Heard’s Appeal
Johnny Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, claims that his client would have been able to move on from the defamation lawsuit if his ex-wife, Amber Heard, hadn’t filed an appeal to overturn the 10.3-million-dollar settlement. The appeal was filed by Heard earlier this year.

On Thursday, Vasquez discussed the ongoing defamation lawsuit during an interview with the anchor of CBS Morning, Gayle King. The conversation took place in the midst of both sides filing appeals in the case. “So is it safe to say that if she hadn’t appealed you all would not have appealed either, you would’ve moved on?” King asked. “Yes – that’s a very fair statement,” Vasquez responded.
King was curious as to why Depp chose to seek an appeal, given that the actor had earlier urged everyone to move on and give themselves “time for healing.”
“It was expected,” Vasquez stated. “I mean she’s indicated since the day she lost the trial that she was going to appeal.” Vasquez claims that the legal team has a strategy in place to ‘defend’ their “client’s interests” while the case progresses ahead.
“We’ve heard that it’s not about the money, it’s time for healing, and time to move on – which is the message that he sent – but how do you heal and move on when both sides are still in court arguing?” King asked.
Vasquez replied, “It’s a pretty standard legal procedure. We just hope that the court will uphold the verdict which we think was the right verdict, and allow both parties to move on”.
How The Depp Vs Heard Trial Impacted Camille’s Life
During the course of the trial, Camille Vasquez gained prominence of her own. At first, TikTok was under the impression that the young attorney and the actor might be involved in a romantic relationship. However, after hearing her insightful questions during the cross-examination and witnessing her commanding presence on behalf of her client, fans quickly realized that she had earned a place in history for her skills.
Johnny Depp has also been introduced to Camille’s lover, the British businessman Edward Owen.
