The “Percy Jackson” is finally returning to the screen. Disney+ is making a series on the character based on Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. After the cancelation of the movie series fans lost all hopes for the revival of the project. But Disney+ came to the rescue and finally, the studio has announced that two important roles in the series have already been cast. Here is everything you should know.
OMG! Annabeth And Grover Revealed
Writer and showrunner, Rick Riordan has declared in April on his website that the filming for the series is to begin in the summer. Finally Disney Plus has revealed the cast for Grover and Annabeth.
Leah Sava Jeffries is going to play Annabeth Chase. Aryan Simhadri is going to play Grover Underwood. Both are Percy’s close friends. The two are supposed to walk with walker Scobell(Percy) in the show.
Riordan and John Steinberg are co-writing the plot for the series. James Bobin is directing the series. Steinberg and producing partner Dan Shotz will oversee the series and executive produce with Bobin, Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg.
“Percy Jackson”- The Plot Of The Series
The series shows Percy, a twelve-year-old demi God getting accustomed to his powers. At the same time Zeus, The sky God accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. Percy goes on an adventure of a lifetime to find the lightning bolt and return it to Olympus.
Grover is the satyr who disguises himself as a twelve-year-old boy. He is Percy’s best friend. He is always cautious and tries to protect his friends.
Annabeth is the daughter of Athena, the goddess of war and wisdom. She has a gift of strategy and a curious mind. Annabeth has spent her last five years at Camp Half Blood and had little knowledge of the human world. She helps Percy to train to survive the mythological world. To return the favor Percy guides her to connect with humanity.
The show will release on Disney Plus in January 2023.
