Football fever has already begun around the world. The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Qatar a few days back. People from around the world have gathered in the country to support their nation. And the world was welcomed to the matches by the official mascot known as La’eeb.
The tournament happens between 20 November to 18 December, which is for around a month. 32 teams would be playing in the field to fight for the historic title. La’eeb stands at the forefront of the matches trying to engage more young people in the games. As football has started to roll, the world has come to a standstill to watch the nerve-wracking matches. And La’eeb will be the companion all along!

La’eeb: Official Mascot Of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The name, La’eeb translates to ‘super-skilled player’ in Arabic. It resembles the figure of a white, smiling, soccer-playing turban. The mascot will bring the joy of football to everyone. Interpretations are open when it comes to the mascot. FIFA describes La’eeb, as “he belongs to a parallel mascot-verse that is indescribable” and is also “adventurous, fun and curious“.
The playful mascot from the mascot verse is said to have attended every FIFA World Cup. He has been part of every famous football moment in history. Also, the courageous mascot comes from the world of ideas and creativity, which forms the basis of characters that live in the minds of everyone.

The Fun And Playful Mascot
La’eeb was unveiled during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Final Draw, which was held in Doha. This reveal had taken place on April 1. The mascot is inspired by the Qatari culture and customs.
The Deputy Director General, Marketing, Communications and Tournament Experience, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi said: “We are delighted to unveil La’eeb as the Official Mascot for the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world. He comes from the mascot-verse – a place that is indescribable. We encourage everyone to imagine what it looks like.”
“We are sure fans everywhere will love this fun and playful character. La’eeb will play a vital role as we engage fans young and old in Qatar’s FIFA World Cup experience,” he also added.
