Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer living royal luxurious lives. Since the time they resigned as the senior members of the royal family, the two have returned to the normal world, working for their own finances. They had to relocate, look for a home, and have their own security, all the while making their own money. It definitely was a task for the couple, since they also had their one-year-old son, Archie to take care of.
It’s been two years since the two have settled away from their previous royal lives. Meghan and Prince Harry have signed some deals with Netflix and Spotify, which promises them a good earning season. For Spotify, Meghan has released her own podcast, titled, ‘Archetypes’. The first episode was released on August 23. The Duchess’ podcast has made it to no.1 on the Spotify charts, dethroning the podcast master, Joe Rogan. What is it about Markle’s podcast that has debuted quite royally?
Meghan Markle’s ‘Archetypes’ Garners An Insane Amount Of Listenership
Meghan is the executive producer and host of the ‘Archetypes‘ podcast. The Duchess aims to spotlight the gender-specific stereotypes and labels that run deep into our society, through intimate conversations with other people. As of September 1, ‘Archetypes’ ranked no. 1 on the Spotify podcast chart in the countries: U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, India, Australia, and New Zealand. The first episode featured the tennis player, Serena Williams, who recently announced her plans to retire from pro tennis.
The podcast has definitely shown what Markle had defined as, “dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back“, in her talk with Serena. In the same episode, the 41-year-old former actress also revealed a shocking incident that happened with her son’s nursery, and still having to choose royal duties over the care of her son.

Meghan Markle Takes Over The Podcast Master Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ is a popular and controversial show which maintains the top position consistently in the U.S. and other regions. For the Spotify podcast chart, the number of unique listeners and recent followers is considered. Since Joe Rogan’s podcast episode had to take a position lower than what it is commonly at, many fans and listeners commented how this is just a one-time thing, and Meghan’s podcast, with each passing episode, will soon wane away from the charts.
It quite makes sense that Markle’s podcast rose to the top position since her debut episode garnered everyone’s curiosity. Multiple users checked in to see what it was about. With the ‘Royal family drama’ that has always surrounded Meghan, listeners are hoping for more secrets and the inside workings of the royal family, which are always hidden from the public eyes. The real impact and relevancy of her podcast can be judged after a few more episode releases. This was visible on September 2, when ‘Archetypes‘ dropped to No. 2 in the U.S. and ‘The Joe Rogan Experience‘ reclaimed the top spot. ‘Archetypes‘ is scheduled to release episodes weekly.
