Elon Musk Refuses To Pay Twitter’s Travel Bills
There is a massive backlog of work and payments after a new leadership takes over any company. Twitter is no different, as Musk began firing a lot of its employees right after the acquisition.
On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that the Tesla CEO is refusing to pay the travel expense of its executives before he took over. The bill is in hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel invoices.
According to the report, Twitter’s previous management authorized the travel expense, not Musk. Now, his staff has stopped picking up calls from travel vendors.
New work-related travel guidelines have been issued by Twitter which states that the travel must be for “business-critical purposes.” The company has also discontinued several perks to cut costs.
Musk Slams People Who Predicted Twitter Won’t Survive
The SpaceX founder recently took a jibe at people who predicted that the micro-blogging site will not survive under his ownership. “Wasn’t Twitter supposed to die by now or something … ?“, he tweeted.
He further wrote, “Maybe we’ve gone to heaven/hell & don’t know it.” Just a day ago, he asked his critics to stay on other platforms. Musk wrote in Hindi – “Namaste” – with a folded hands emoji.
“Hope all judgy hall monitors stay on other platforms – please, I’m begging u,” the tweet read. In the past month, the company has gone through some drastic changes.
Musk recently paused the relaunch of the subscription plan for verification after the platform was flooded with fake profiles getting the blue tick.
