Cody Rhodes’ Latest Eye Injury Update Is As Positive As It Is Weird

Cody Rhodes endured a brutal WrestleMania 42 weekend, capped by a hard-fought main event against Randy Orton on Night 1 of the two-night spectacle. The match took a serious toll on ‘The American Nightmare,’ who was left busted open after absorbing a vicious punt kick from Orton to close the show.

Images of Rhodes’ injured eye quickly spread across social media, sparking concern among fans about the extent of the damage following such a punishing encounter. Despite making an appearance on RAW the next night, Rhodes has since addressed the situation himself, offering an honest update on his condition and recovery after the frightening injury.

Taking to his official Instagram story, Cody Rhodes shared what doctors told him about his eye injury, offering a major sense of relief to concerned fans. Despite the severity of the damage, Rhodes revealed that he would not lose his eye, a statement he admitted sounded almost surreal given the circumstances.

“‘You won’t lose the eye…’ has to be the most positive yet absurd thing I’ve ever heard in a doctor’s office”, wrote Rhodes on one of his Instagram stories.

The RAW after WrestleMania delivered a tense, must-see moment as CM Punk and Cody Rhodes came face-to-face for the first time following the chaotic weekend. Punk opened the show in his first appearance since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns, candidly addressing the disappointment of his defeat.

The segment quickly intensified when ‘The American Nightmare’ interrupted. Despite being visibly battered, Rhodes commended Punk for his performance against Reigns, emphasizing that, unlike himself, who retained his title, Punk didn’t come across as a loser.

That remark didn’t sit well with Punk. Clearly irritated, he questioned why he should see himself that way, pointing out that he gave everything he had against an opponent he deeply despises.

Punk also noted that Rhodes faced a different kind of challenge, having to battle a close friend in Randy Orton. Still, he made it clear that he remains ready for whatever opportunity comes next, his eyes lingering on Rhodes’ championship.

The crowd in Las Vegas erupted as Punk exited the ring, but the moment didn’t end there. Rhodes called out to him, making it clear that the door is wide open, hinting that a future clash for the Undisputed WWE Championship could be entirely up to Punk.
