The deterrent in the way of Elon Musk revamping Twitter is never-ending! Since he bought the platform in October 2022, Musk has been facing hurdles to the point that he stepped down from the position of CEO. Advertising revenue is slumping after the acquisition, and Twitter has still not recovered.
Now, a new problem has arrived at the doorstep of Twitter. As per Elon Musk, some external programs are trying to excavate information from the posts on the platform. So, the microblogging site has decided to temporarily limit the number of posts visible for both verified and unverified users.

Elon Musk Increased The Limit From 8K To 10K Posts For Verified Users
On July 1, 2023, Elon Musk announced Twitter would be limiting the number of posts for both verified and unverified users. The decision comes on the heels of computing programs extracting data from users. Musk wrote, “To address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits.”

Earlier, verified accounts had a 6,000-post limit per day, and unverified accounts could only access 600 posts per day. But later, he increased the limit to 10k and 1k, respectively. Elon took this step after he blocked access to the platform without logging in. He stated, “Several hundred organizations (maybe more) were scraping Twitter data extremely aggressively, to the point where it was affecting the real user experience.”

Elon Musk’s major concern when he acquired the platform was to reduce the number of bots. He even challenged the trolls and the bots to attack him. But the billionaire prevented them from swarming his replies. He resolved to take down any scammers or bots on the face of the earth.
Recently, a user expressed concern that the bots were attacking his feed and DMs. So, Twitter ensured a new update that will only allow Twitter Blue subscribers to slide into the DMs of people they don’t follow. They ensured, “This would nearly eliminate DM bot spam at a stroke.” Musk also acknowledged that it is difficult to spot AI bots and wrote about how important verifications are to avoid these attacks.
