Meghan Markle has been under heavy fire on social media for her decisions, including her choice to part from the Royal Family along with her husband Prince Harry, and the disclosure of the abuses she endured while living in the UK.
Amidst the hate Meghan is receiving, Melissa McCarthy decided to speak for her. She emphasized that would not tolerate any hate speech against such a ‘wonderful’ and ‘amazing’ person like Markle.
“A Smart, Interesting Woman That Has Her Own Life”: Melissa McCarthy On Meghan Markle
Women supporting women is what we want to see in today’s society. Melissa McCarthy being a supportive person herself, is standing against all the hate on Meghan Markle. During a conversation with Page Six, Melissa talked about how amazing Markle is and the hate she receives is completely baseless. She said, “It bums me out for every woman and every person that, for no reason, people just like to attack.”
She continued, “A smart, interesting woman that has her own life, for some reason, is incredibly threatening to some people.”
Meghan and Melissa share a close friendship during the Suits alum’s 40th birthday celebration. That’s where Melissa said, “I always think, ‘How inspiring!’ I’ve never once been threatened by someone who is amazing. I just think, ‘How inspiring.’ So, it’s really on the people throwing the hate.”

Markle On Getting Constant Hate
Despite her contributions to charity and social services, Meghan gets unnecessary hate for almost every action she does publicly. Since getting married to Harry and getting pregnant with her 2 children, her every move is criticized.
During the Opening Day Keynote Panel at SXSW in March, Meghan talked about the continuous hate she has received, “You just think about that, and to wrap your head around why people would be so hateful. It’s not catty, it’s cruel. And why you would do that, certainly, when you’re pregnant, with a newborn, we all know as moms, it’s such a tender and sacred time.”
Markle finds it traumatizing as people go to limitless extents to spread hate and make conspiracy theories against her life, which are not even authentic.
