King Charles III Confided In Princess Diana’s Stepmother About Wanting A Girl
On August 31, 2023, it was the 26th death anniversary of Princess Diana since she left the world after the fatal accident in Paris. In 2024, ‘Diana: The Rest of Her Story,’ a documentary, is slated to release. Before the fatal accident in 1997, Diana handed some tapes that she had recorded during the 1990s to Andrew Morton.
ABC’s Good Morning got their hands on the tapes, and they exclusively listened to the audio where Diana talked about her strained relationship with her mother and Harry’s christening ceremony.
During one of the audios, she said, “Because, at Harry’s christening, Charles went up to mummy and said, ‘You know we were so disappointed, we thought it would be a girl.’ “ To this, her stepmother, Raine Spencer, said, “You should realize how lucky you are to have a child that’s normal.” Diana admitted that since then, “a shutter’s come down, and that’s what he does when he gets somebody answering back at him.”

Princess Diana Admitted That The Duke Of Duchess Was One Of The Reasons For Her Strained Marriage
Andrew Morton has been a trusted writer when it comes to knowing the intricacies of Princess Diana’s life and stint in the royal family. In 1992’s ‘DIANA: Her True Story,’ Morton wrote an explosive account of Princess Diana and King Charles III‘s marriage. But he released a new edition of the book in which Diana said that, post-Harry’s birth, her marriage was on the brink of ending.
Princess Diana told Andrew Morton, “Then between William and Harry being born it is total darkness. I can’t remember much, I’ve blotted it out, it was such pain.”
She continued, “However, Harry appeared by a miracle. We were very, very close to each other the six weeks before Harry was born, the closest we’ve ever, ever been and ever will be. Then suddenly as Harry was born it just went bang, our marriage, the whole thing went down the drain.”
