Despite being two tour de force performers in the music industry, Britney Spears once claimed that she had not met Taylor Swift during an interview. The interviewer asked her if she wanted to fly with either Katy Perry or Taylor Swift; the ‘Outrageous’ singer chose the ‘California Girls’ singer as she claimed that she never met Swift. However, this is not true at all!
Britney Spears Has Met Taylor Swift Twice
In 2016, Britney Spears appeared on the Kyle & Jackie O show in Australia. During the show, one of the hosts asked Britney Spears who she would sit next to on a 24-hour flight—Taylor Swift or Katy Perry. To this, Britney answered, “I don’t know. I don’t know, that’s hard. They’re both so cool … I’ve briefly met Katy Perry at the Smurfs movie premiere. Maybe because I’ve met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I’ve never met her before.”

However, the internet presented proof that Britney Spears has met Taylor Swift not once but twice! The first time Spears met Taylor was in 2003, when she was just in high school. The second time the ‘Toxic’ singer met Swift was in 2008 at the VMAs.

Mariah Carey And Jennifer Lopez Had A Similar Moment
While it is still a mystery whether Mariah Carey didn’t know Jennifer Lopez or if it was a shade towards her, In the 2000s, Carey made a big revelation on a German TV show that she did not know JLo. The host asked her thoughts on Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez. For the former, she said that the singer is lovely; however, for the latter, Mariah said, “I don’t know her.”
The ghost of the past still haunts Mariah Carey. During an interview with The Cut, Carey clarified that her response to the Lopez question was that she“wasn’t trying to be funny.” She added, “I was just being honest.”
However, the ‘Jenny from the Block’ singer has two versions of the story. In an interview with Andy Cohen, she said that the two singing stars have never met and “don’t know each other.” But in an interview with Wendy Williams, she said that the two have met many times and that the ‘Without You’ singer is forgetful. But Mariah stuck to her story and told TMZ in 2016 that she still doesn’t know her.
