6. May (2002)

A social outcast decides to snap and unleash chaos in this 2002 film, starring Angela Bettis. ‘May’ takes the saying “one is not born a villain but made” with a gruesome edge as May reaches a boiling point that ruptures the last piece of humanity she holds onto. The film has some major creepy symbols, including the cased doll that shows up occasionally.
5. Hush (2016)

This is one of those horror films that depends on silence as its horror element. It’s a brilliantly executed concept that you don’t often see in the genre.

A harmless adoption soon turns deadly when a demonic presence follows three children who were raised in a secluded forest. ‘Mama’ is notoriously scary because it has the perfect balance of horror, innocence, and maternal affection.
