‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ has already generated a lot of interest among the ‘Game of Thrones’ fans, and one of the young stars of the show is looking at the process of creating a beloved character. However, as for the future, he remains tight-lipped.
Playing Egg Meant Balancing Two Very Different Lives

Recently, Dexter Sol Ansell (Egg) shared his thoughts on the most difficult part of his first season filming on HBO’s upcoming fantasy series. Egg’s character acts like a commoner, but in reality, he’s a Targaryen prince. So, the actor had to double up on his role.

There were some challenging times. “There were some really hard moments where I had to juggle being a Targaryen and being just a stable boy. And if you watch season one, you can see the little moments where I’m juggling Targaryen-ness and squire-ness. That was a lot of hard work I put into that,” as Ansell told THR.
The nuance might not be immediately apparent, but it’s a sign of the character’s complexity. Egg cannot completely take on his royal identity when he’s traveling with Ser Duncan the Tall, but there are hints of the prince that come out. It was one of Ansell’s most challenging roles.

His response is not surprising. HBO has done its best to avoid spoilers, particularly for a series as popular as ‘Game of Thrones’. Luckily for fans, there is already a guide to where the story might go next, in the form of George R.R. Martin’s novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg.
Until now, it’s up to the viewers to see how Ansell will make Egg’s dual identity come to life on screen. Whether it’s the smallest of the characters’ moments or the biggest twists, his comments might hold as much information as the others.
