Bethesda Games Director Todd Howard Reveals His Favorite Moment From Amazon’s Video Game Adaptation TV Series ‘Fallout’

It would be an understatement to say that Amazon’s Fallout is one of the best video game-adapted media in recent times. Following the path of 2023’s ‘The Last Of Us’, ‘Fallout’ nicely depicted the post-apocalyptic world. Now, Todd Howard, the director at Bethesda Games, revealed the part from the ‘Fallout’ TV series that he cherished the most.

Todd played a vital role in the creation of ‘Fallout’ video game series. He was also involved quite much during the making of TV series. He picked the scene of Lucy walking out of the safety vault as his favorite scene from the 8-episode-long season 1 of the series.

If you have played any of the ‘Fallout’ video games, you know that players have to leave the Vault to fulfill their destiny. As Lucy exits the Vault, she not only enters a new world but also abandons the “safety belt” of the Vault as well.

In a new Q&A video, Todd said, “I still love the moment that Lucy comes out of the vault. I think that captures so much. It’s an earned moment, and visually a really, really beautiful one.”

In addition to that, in a previous interview with IGN, Todd emphasized that this scene was an essential element that went into making the live-action series. He said, “We can kind of view it through their eyes – we try to do that in the games, obviously – and kind of earn that moment of like, what is it like for them to leave the safety?

The creators of the TV show have put a lot of effort into bringing the video game series into the live-action feature. While speaking with Guardian, Todd Howard talked about how visiting the ‘Fallout’ set was.

He said, “They obsessed over everything. I went into the overseer’s office, I sat down at the desk and there was a stack of papers, and someone had written out a note – then I turned it over and there was a report on the power in the Vault. They even got a real jetpack in there!”

‘Fallout’ TV show’s star Ella Purnell also gave props to the creators for the accuracy. She claimed, “The attention to detail was insane”.Ella did a great job as Lucy, one of the main characters of the series and carried the show on her shoulder with Aaro Moten and Walton Goggins.
