‘Better Call Saul’ Star Bob Odenkirk Recalls When He “Turned Grey” During A “Small Heart Attack” On Set

Bob Odenkirk from ‘Better Call Saul‘ has revealed how he had a severe heart attack scare nearly three years ago on the sets of the show in New Mexico. It came as a shock for many as the actor revealed the chilling details of his heart attack during a recent interview with the Multiple Talking Women’ podcast.

Recalling the incident, Odenkirk said his heart “pretty much stopped,” while his complexion immediately turned a scary grey as he stopped breathing. Bob also recalled how when the medic reached there and saw his condition, he “froze in disbelief.

It was his first day,” Odenkirk recounted. “And he said, ‘Oh no.'” Odenkirk was naturally unconscious and unaware of the medic’s shock, otherwise, his worry might have only worsened the situation with such a reaction coming from a medical professional.

However, he was treated optimally after the attack and gained back consciousness. While the actor soon resumed acting just weeks after the incident, the heart attack was a shock for him as well as his colleagues. He has since been more careful about his health.

During the interview, Bob Odenkirk also circled back to the medic’s reaction to his attack. He said that after his return to the sets, the medic came and apologized to him about his reaction to the incident. He also admitted his lack of experience in administering CPR.

Weeks later when I came back, he said, ‘I’m so sorry it was my first day, I have been a (retired)firefighter, I’ve never done CPR. l have only ever seen other people do it,'” Odenkirk quoted the medic as saying.

The incident occurred on July 28, 2021, while Odenkirk was filming in New Mexico. He was rushed to a hospital immediately, after which he recovered quite swiftly within a few weeks.

When he resumed work, Odenkirk described it as a “small heart attack,” just before he began shooting for the final season of ‘Better Call Saul’ in early September 2021. The show’s finale aired a year later.
