With two more episodes remaining, the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones‘ will be coming to an end soon. The series ‘House of The Dragons‘ has started to see its preparation for the next season. And the first and major step would be to kill off the present monarch, King Viserys. The eighth episode showed the final days of the mighty King. Paddy Considine who plays King Viserys has confided that he won’t be watching these episodes.
In the episode, it can be seen that the king is welcoming his death, as he doesn’t treat the cuts on his face or leprosy that has been slowly killing him. The actor had admitted that the King was sort of punishing himself by not treating his own wounds. For his wife had to take gruesome processes during her pregnancy. So here’s why Considine is reluctant to watch the episodes.
Considine Hasn’t Watched More Than Two Episodes
Paddy Considine has opened up that he is not a person who watches his own acting. “No, I haven’t, and I’m not sure if I ever will,” the actor responds. “I haven’t seen anything beyond episode 2, really. Some people don’t like to watch themselves, and I’m one of those people. It’s debilitating. I tend to just stay away. I’m sure somebody will show me a photograph,” he continued.
But Considine has taken a special liking for the character. “I love him so much. I think he’s my favorite character I’ve ever played. But I would struggle with that,” the actor admits in The New York Times interview. “His story has been told. He made his impact. He was the peaceful king that everybody thought was a bore, and he brought some love and compassion to the show. I don’t know what more you could do with that. So I think this is the end.” The episode on Sunday had seen the last moments of King Viserys and it has been told that there won’t be any further scenes, even flashbacks.

King Had Already Died With His First Wife
“Nowhere in the story does Viserys ask the maesters to cure him, to stop this thing from eating him alive. I think he accepts it as part of the guilt of the decision he makes to put his wife through a terrible, horrible procedure. It’s like people who surrender to illness. When they offer suggestions to cure him, he doesn’t bother with them. He lets it consume him. He surrenders. That was my thing for him, anyway,” Considine recounts about his character. King Viserys’ appearance is terrible during his last moments.
His body had changed so much. His eyes were missing, and a large chunk of flesh was torn from his cheeks by the leprosy disease. When ascending the throne for the final time, he was seen wearing a Phantom of the Opera mask on his face. When he comes to see his children for one last time, there is already a weakness on his face ready to submit to death.
