Starting in 1999, Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler were official partners at the ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘ for over 12 years. The beloved characters have shared many scenes together, and it is impossible to forget. Throughout the show, the writers teased the fans about Olivia and Elliot’s will-they-won’t-they relationship.
The ‘Law & Order‘ franchise is known for depicting grisly crimes and the moral complexities of the American criminal justice system. But it also has plenty of good old-fashioned relationship drama. Do Olivia And Elliot Sleep Together In ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’?
Throughout the ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘ series, Olivia has many love interests, but none of them compare to Elliot. The duo’s working chemistry was soo perfect that the fans wished for them to end up together. Both of them respect each other’s boundaries and though watching them is such a tease, Olivia and Elliot do not sleep together. Though both of them deeply care and respect each other.
Elliot has a wife, Kathy and four children, but his dedication to his job and the effects of the brutal crimes he deals with put a strain on his family relationships. Meanwhile, Olivia struggles to develop a fulfilling personal life for similar reasons and in the early days of the series, her partnership with Elliot seemed to be the easiest, most comfortable dynamic in both of their lives.
As, being a product of rape, it has been traumatic and difficult for Olivia to move forward in her love life wholeheartedly. Olivia’s love life on the show kicks off with a nonchalant one-night stand with one of her colleagues at the department, Detective Brian Cassidy. The relationship continues until Brian leaves the precinct. Since now that both the leading characters, Olivia and Elliot are stars of different shows, it is difficult to show any evolution romantically. Since both shows portray different dynamics of the characters.

Olivia’s Romantic Relationships
Though the fans really wanted something serious to happen between Olivia and Elliot, the showrunners seemed to have something different on their mind. She developed a relationship with Detective Brian Cassidy after a nonchalant one-night stand. But later continued dating his in seasons 1, 14, and 15. But after a little affair with Brain, she immediately dates a reporter, Nick Ganzner, but only for a short time. Later in season five, she turns down Andy Eckerson because of his questionable police tactics.
In season nine of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘, Olivia really wanted to keep her relationship under wraps, but mid-season it is revealed that she is dating a journalist, Kurt Moss. But the relationship with Moss is short-lived. In season 13, we see Executive ADA David Haden match romantically on many levels with Olivia. They share common goals and plan to take it slow, hoping on making it last. Olivia then dates Ed Tucker (not the guy from ‘The Office‘) during seasons 17 and 18. But she ends it with him when he suggests Olivia should retire at the same time as he is.
