Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’ is now a limited series.

The source material for the Amazon Prime limited series comes from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel ‘Daisy Jones And The Six.’ The book follows a rock band in the 1970s from their rise in the LA music scene to become one of the most legendary bands in the world and explores the reason behind their split at the height of their success.

We understand from the official teaser that the series will have a docufiction format, using flashbacks to probe the secret history of disagreements and heartbreak. Daisy Jones (Riley Keogh) is being interviewed about why the band broke up. But the truth hurts, and the answers we seek may not bring us closure.

What Was The Inspiration Behind ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’?

From left to right- Suki Waterhouse, Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, and Camila Marrone

Despite having no musical bone in her body, Author Taylor Jenkins Reid is a huge music fan. She was inspired by the 1970s California sound, particularly the lives and music of Linda Ronstadt, Patty Smith, Stevie Nicks, and the Fleetwood Mac record ‘Rumours.’ Her obsession with musical duos and biographies about musicians led her to pen a fictional narrative of a rock band’s journey over the years.

Riley Keough will play Daisy Jones, the free-spirited lead singer. Sam Claflin will play Billy Dunne, and Camila Morrone will play his girlfriend and later wife, Camila Dunne. Will Harrison plays Billy’s brother, Graham Dunne. Sebastian Chacon portrays the drummer of the band, Warren Rhodes, and Josh Whitehouse will play bassist Eddie Roundtree. Suki Waterhouse will play Karen Sirko, the band’s keyboardist.

Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, Timothy Olyphant plays the band’s manager, Rod, Jacqueline Obradors as Lucia, and Tom Wright as Teddy, a producer at Runner Records, will have recurring roles. The show began filming in late September 2021 and wrapped in early May 2022. ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’ will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime on March 3, 2023.
