Noah Wyle has finally given fans a clearer idea of when ‘The Pitt‘ Season 3 will take place, and the timeline already points toward a tense new chapter inside Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.

The actor revealed the upcoming season will unfold in early November, just before the holidays, which immediately raises questions about which holiday may influence the next round of emergencies, confrontations, and complications.

The Pitt‘ stars Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa appeared at Warner Bros. Upfronts, where they shared the update about the upcoming season. Wyle confirmed production is about to begin and connected the new timeline to the holiday period. “We’re about to start production on Season 3,” Wyle shared.

It’s set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.” Wyle did not name the exact holiday the story will approach, but the calendar gives fans two clear options. Veterans Day falls on November 11, while Thanksgiving arrives on November 26.

Both dates could bring very different kinds of drama into the emergency department. Thanksgiving may seem like the obvious guess because the holiday often brings family gatherings, personal tension, and emotional fallout. However, Veterans Day also deserves attention because ‘The Pitt‘ has already built several storylines connected to veterans.

Veterans have been an important part of ‘The Pitt’ through multiple characters. Shawn Hatosy’s Dr. Jack Abbot has already brought this side of the story into the series, while Season 2 newcomer Sepideh Moafi’s Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi added another layer to the hospital drama. Season 2 also introduced Duke Ekins, aka Jeff Kober.

Duke is an old friend of Dr. Robby and a veteran. His presence makes the early November timeline feel especially interesting because the show already has character history tied to service and survival. If Season 3 moves closer to Veterans Day, the story could explore trauma, loyalty, old wounds, and the emotional cost people carry after service. The real-time emergency room format could turn those themes into urgent medical cases and personal confrontations. Thanksgiving still remains a strong possibility.

The holiday could bring family pressure, packed hospital corridors, and difficult personal decisions for doctors and nurses already dealing with too many patients and too few resources. As previously reported, work on the writers’ room began in March, according to executive producer and director John Wells. “We will be back in production in June, and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year,” Wells added.

The production plan shows the team is already moving ahead with the next run. Season 3 is expected to include 15 episodes, continuing the real-time format viewers have come to expect from the series.
