Percy Jackson is returning! The upcoming Disney+ series, ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘, is one of the most anticipated Disney+ projects that can keep the audience hooked to their seats. Disney is already in production of the first season of the series that would be telling the story of ‘The Lightning Thief‘.
Rick Riordan would also be in attendance during the making of the project. Asked about the on-screen future of his book series, he answered on Goodreads, “That’s the idea, yes. Of course, first, we have to get approval to do future seasons. Right now, we are only green-lit for one season, but if you all watch and like it, I am optimistic we will get approval to do more.” Until now, there have been only two movies in which Percy Jackson came into live-action. Percy Jackson: Plot And Cast
The upcoming Disney+ series is filming currently in Vancouver, Canada. The show is based on Disney Hyperion’s bestselling book series penned down by the award-winning author Rick Riordan, ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘. The modern fantasy revolves around a 12-year-old young boy, who is a demigod Percy Jackson, who is coming to terms with his superhuman powers. It is at this point that the teenager is accused of stealing the master thunderbolt from the sky God Zeus. Thus begins Percy’s journey, with his friends Grover and Annabeth, to find the master thunderbolt and to restore order to Olympus.
The series has an amazing cast, with Walker Scobell playing Jackson, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, and Leah Sava Jeffries who had been cast in ‘Empire‘ would play Annabeth in this series. Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg will serve as writers for the pilot, and James Bobin would be the director. Riordan has come up with the news regarding the series on his blog. He informs that the series would only wrap up by the beginning of the year 2023 and would need months and months of post-production. Thus the audience can only expect the series to be aired by early 2024.

What Can The Fans Expect?
Percy Jackson fans have gone head over heels with every news regarding the upcoming Disney series ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘. The production of the drama only started about a month ago, but still has caused much mayhem. With Riordan dropping exciting hints about various aspects of the show, the fans have never been still. The viewers can expect the trailer only in the distant future, with Rick mentioning that the footage may be as late as next August.
From a few posters being out, the actors in the titular roles have been revealed. Also, a glimpse is given of Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, the son of Hermes who plays a vital role in the book series. Jason Mantzoukas from ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘ is confirmed to be portraying Dionysus, the Greek God of wine. Though a few months into production, the actors who are going to play Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are still unknown.
