‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ is set for the release of its 20th season and fans can’t keep calm. The medical drama has seen the entrances and exits of many characters, but some of these have retained their value in their fans’ hearts even after leaving the show. One such ex-cast member of ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ is Sandra Oh. However, the actress seems to have firmly closed the door on any immediate return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
During the Los Angeles premiere of her new HBO series, ‘The Sympathizer’, the 52-year-old actress said she loves her character Cristina Yang from ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, but the possibility of her comeback to the show is scarce.
The actress also acknowledged the love her fans have for her character, but emphasized that she feels her character had a complete arc over the 10 seasons she was on the show and that it was time for her to move on.
Oh said that she hopes her fans “feel like I did my job, which is that I brought to life a character and she had a growth over 10 seasons, and that it was true.” Speaking about her character Christina, the actress said, “She was ready to move on, and so have I.“

Sandra Oh’s Co-Star Believes Her Return Has A Potential Story Arc
Sandra Oh’s statement comes shortly after her co-star Kevin McKidd’s recent mention of the potential for Cristina’s return to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. McKidd, who played Cristina’s onscreen husband Owen Hunt, said their story arc still holds potential with the unresolved nature of their characters‘ relationship
Imagining the conversation their characters would possibly have after a reunion, McKidd said it would be “complicated because there’s such a love between Cristina and Owen, and when they said goodbye to each other, they didn’t really get a proper goodbye with each other. It was kind of left hanging.”
“Cristina was up there in the gallery and Owen was stuck in the OR, they literally just nodded at each other and she had to leave,” he added. “So I think there’s a lot of history there they would have to talk about.”
However, with Oh’s statement, fans can mourn the definite goodbye to Christina’s character on the show. Meanwhile, they can catch her in her new HBO series, ‘The Sympathizer’, premiering on April 14.
