‘Succession‘ gained traction as soon as it was released and even became a favorite at the Emmys. The show introduced viewers to a lot of characters throughout the four seasons of its run. Unfortunately, there’s no fifth season.
Let’s take a look at five of the best and worst characters of the popular drama series.

5 Most Likable Characters
So let’s start with the comparatively non-problematic ones. Rating ‘Succession‘ characters on likeability is difficult since everyone on the show has hidden skeletons in the closet. These five characters all come pretty close to each other when it comes to likeability.
5. Connor Roy
The oldest Roy sibling has quite a big fan following. However, his charming and strong-willed personality has some shortcomings. Connor likes to solve problems with money and connections. Although he is the least Roy-like out of the lot, living a carefree life at his ranch, sometimes he has shown more traits like his cunning father, Logan. So we have put Connor at number five. However, Connor does teach us that individuality is more important than being a Roy.
4. Tom Wambsgans
Shiv and Tom’s relationship is genuine, real and very much complicated. However, he has moved on from just being Shiv’s fiance/husband. Making his way into the top tiers from the very bottom, Tom has shown his skills as a businessman and strategist. Also, Tom’s love for Shiv is real and not just a power move to get into the Roy family. He can be vulnerable as well as headstrong. Tom also shows compassion and maintains a cool head in times of need.
3. Gerri Kellman
Although not a Roy, Gerri is undoubtedly better at running the Waystar company than the others. She has been the longest and most loyal worker at the company. Gerri gives her everything when working, and is a hard worker but also a very grounded person.
2. Cousin Greg
Greg Hirsch is one of the least problematic characters in ‘Succession‘. He is introduced as Logan’s nephew but is far removed from the Roy family’s drama and wealth. One more reason why fans like Greg is the Greg-Tom bromance. It is definitely a better relationship than what Tom shares with Shiv. Greg is adorable and a quick learner. He shows his capability in dealing with the messed up world of the rich and powerful but does not lose himself in the process.
1. Roman Roy
The youngest Roy sibling is funny, and charming but can also be manipulative. But you would grow to like him and his jokes. Although in the beginning, Roman Roy was disrespectful and belittled his subordinates but he mended his ways later on. As the show progresses you learn and understand more about the trauma his father caused him. And that Roman is not only funny but has a lot more depth to his character.

5 Worst Characters of Succession
‘Succession‘ has a higher share of unlikeable and detested characters than likable ones. Moreover, every character on the show has a bad and a good side where the bad side triumphs over the good one. So let’s take a look.
5. Willa Ferreyra
Connor’s wife who was earlier an escort, Willa is now a playwright. Connor and Willa’s relationship is purely based on money. Willa uses Connor’s money and power and surprisingly enough, Connor knows and accepts this. However, most surprisingly a crooked family like the Roys actually cannot stand Willa. Some fans agree that Willa does not love Connor the way he does.
4. Caroline Collingwood
Logan’s second wife has all the characteristics a mother should not have. Although not a Roy, she possesses every characteristic of the Roys’ shrewdness and disdain. One thing Logan and Caroline have in common is the best ways to terrorize their children. Caroline does not interact with any of her children and dismisses their feelings anytime she wants to. She is very self-centered and often insults her siblings and is also emotionally distant from them.
3. Shiv Roy
Logan’s only daughter, Shiv, is truly a boss lady. She is headstrong, confident and nothing less than her brothers. Shiv is excellent at handling political situations and is a born leader. But she lacks when it comes to business matters. She lacks the instinct and judgment required to lead a company like Waystar RoyCo. Not only that, she is toxic and disrespects her husband while trying to make it to the top. This shows that Shiv only cares for herself and her needs. Shiv has never paid heed to Tom’s feelings and even has an affair right before their wedding.
2. Kendall Roy
When it comes to hating a character, Kendall definitely takes the top spot. He is nearly as insufferable as his sister and severely lacks the skills to run a business. Kendall is known to be addicted to alcohol and drugs and also for being wildly impulsive and also suffers from a God complex. He is also very disloyal to the family and has no regard for his kids. Kendall lacks in every aspect of his life in being a good father, son and businessman.
1. Logan Roy
Logan Roy is an iconic character undoubtedly. Viewers share a love-hate relationship with Logan Roy. He is selfish, manipulative, vile, and a very bad father. Logan is the reason behind the trauma to all his children. He messed them up pretty badly. But he is also an excellent businessman. He knows exactly how to intimidate his enemies and stays five paces ahead of anybody trying to mess with him. But his ambition and steadfastness have made him treat his children badly. However, without Logan ‘Succession‘ would not have made it as big as it is.
