Rumors surrounding ‘The Pitt‘ stars Sepideh Moafi and Noah Wyle have been spreading online for weeks, with fans speculating that the actors were involved in an off-screen feud during Season 2 production.

As discussions exploded across social media, many viewers even connected the alleged tension to Moafi’s dramatic storyline on the HBO Max medical series. Now, the actress has finally addressed the gossip directly, and she says the rumors are “completely false.”

Speaking with Variety, Moafi did not hesitate when directly asked about the alleged feud rumors online. The actress immediately shut down the speculation and explained that she and Wyle worked extremely well together, especially during the show’s more emotionally intense scenes.

Absolutely not,” she says. The actor added, “I do not have that power. We’re really great colleagues. Noah and I have always had a great working relationship, which is why it actually felt safe to do the darker, dirtier work in episode 15, particularly because, between setups, we were shooting the shit and laughing. So that’s completely false that there’s a personal sort of beef or rivalry between us, at least not that I’m aware of. You can check with Noah, but I don’t know about this.

Moafi’s comments directly address the toxic side of fandom culture that often blurs the line between television drama and real life. As ‘The Pitt‘ exploded in popularity, fans became heavily invested in Dr. Robby and Dr. Al-Hashimi’s complicated dynamic. However, according to Moafi, viewers took those fictional conflicts far too seriously.

Despite all the online rumors, Moafi also confirmed that she will return for Season 3. Although she admitted she still does not know exactly how much screen time her character will have in the upcoming season, she made it clear that she remains part of the series moving forward.

At the moment, I am. I’m not sure to what capacity,” she says, before laughing. “I’m positive, I think? Nothing is clear to me as to what’s happening with the story, how many episodes, all that, but I am coming back.”

The online theories started gaining momentum after Moafi joined ‘The Pitt‘ as Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, the physician temporarily replacing Noah Wyle’s Dr. Robby before his sabbatical. As the season progressed, viewers watched the relationship between the two characters become increasingly tense. It is especially during several emotionally heavy scenes in the latter half of Season 2.

Things escalated even further after the series revealed Dr. Al-Hashimi’s secret health condition. The character has been living with focal impaired awareness seizures since contracting viral meningitis at age 5. During stressful hospital shifts, she suddenly zones out. She stares blankly or stops speaking altogether, leaving some colleagues confused about her behavior.

By the time the Season 2 finale aired, social media had fully embraced theories that the difficult storyline reflected real-life issues between Moafi and Wyle. In the finale, Dr. Al-Hashimi finally confides in Dr. Robby after he begins noticing signs that something is wrong. She shows him her medical charts, while Robby encourages her to officially disclose her condition to the hospital. She then reveals that she already has a medical plan in place. However, Moafi says viewers completely misread the situation behind the scenes.
