Who Started The Rumbling?
Karl Fritz turned humans into titans and used them to create the three walls of Paradis Island. Each of those Titans is as large as the colossal Titan, if not more. The rumbling is a situation where these titans are unhardened and are awakened in a manner. These titans then walk the Earth and destroy the people. This is the rumbling that Eren Yeager wanted and ultimately started.
Eren wanted to start the rumbling to protect his friends. The people of Marley and the rest of the world always condemned Paradis Island. But at the same time, they were scared of them and their titans as well. Eren Yeager did everything he could to protect the people he cared about. He believed that the rest of the world couldn’t hurt them and the Island if people other than them didn’t exist. Due to this, he started the rumbling and had full intention of eliminating everyone other than the people of Paradis Island.
How Much Of The Earth Was Destroyed?
By the time Mikasa, Armin, and the rest of the world put an end to the rumbling, Eren destroyed about eighty percent of the world. Eren Yeager saw the future as well as the past due to his powers. He saw everything that happened and everything that would happen in the future. He started the rumbling and within days, the army of the colossal Titans along with Eren in his founding Titan reached the mainland of Marley.
Mikasa, Armin, and the rest of the people from Paradis Island decided to stop Eren and the atrocities he was committing by convincing him to stop. They tried to reach Eren and convince him by any means necessary. However, that proved to be ineffective as Ymir summoned the past holders of the nine titans. They battled the Marleyans and the Paradis Island people.
After this, Eren’s friends decided that the only way to stop Eren from killing the entire world was to kill Eren himself. After a struggle, Mikasa managed to reach the founding Titan’s body. She killed Eren by severing his head from his neck. Even though they stopped the rumbling in a matter of days, Eren Yeager managed to eliminate eighty percent of the world’s population.
