‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ is one of the most popular anime of all time and it is loved by fans all around the globe. Whilst everything in the anime is wonderful, the characters in the series are on a whole different level. Among those characters is Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer in the world. Whilst fans love almost all the characters in the series, they are a bit more partial to Gojo.
Fans wish to know many things about Gojo Satoru including but not limited to his powers, origin, past, and more. However, there is one other thing that the fans wish to know. Some people say that Gojo Satoru is based on Itachi. Fans wish to know if it is actually true.
Who Is Gojo Satoru?
Gojo Satoru is one of the primary characters in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’. He is the strongest character of the series currently and as it seems, is going to be one for a very long time. He has silver hair and piercing blue eyes. The reason why he is exceptionally strong is his abilities. He has infinity and six eyes. Whilst infinity is an inherited curse technique, the six eyes are more of a gift than a cursed technique.
Gojo Satoru is the only sorcerer to be born with both the six eyes and the infinity in over a hundred years. His innate abilities made him exceptionally powerful and he never really had to try and become powerful. In addition to that, Gojo also learned to use the reverse cursed technique which only a handful of people know how to use as it is very complicated.
Is Gojo Based On Itachi?
Uchiha Itachi is a very important character in ‘Naruto’. He is an amazingly written character and according to some fans, shares many similarities with Gojo Satoru and they believe that he is based on Itachi. However, Gojo is not based on Itachi, nor is he based on Hatake Kakashi.
Gojo is based on a ‘Naruto’ character named Tobitake Tonbo. It was mentioned in the ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ fanbook. Tobitake has his eyes covered and so does Gojo. In addition to this, there is another major similarity between the two characters. Tobitake is very calm and collected and gives off a very cool vibe. He is aware of his powers and is quite confident in them. But on the other hand, he doesn’t have any problem acknowledging other people’s strengths and powers.
This is very similar to Gojo as he is the same kind of person. He mentioned that he is the strongest sorcerer but at the same time, acknowledged that Megumi can surpass him. Therefore, Gojo Satoru is not based on Itachi Uchiha but is rather based on Tobitake Tonbo.
