Zenitsu Vs Tanjiro: Who Is More Powerful In ‘Demon Slayer’?

‘Demon Slayer’ quickly became a fan favorite soon after the release of its first season. The subsequent seasons just solidified the anime’s place in the hearts of its viewers. In all three seasons released so far, fans have some characters that they adore. Two of those characters are Tanjiro and Zenitsu. 

Both of the characters are exceptionally powerful and are very kind-hearted. Despite not training for a long time, the two got quite strong. Despite loving both of these characters, fans wish to know which of these two wonderful swordsmen is stronger. 

Who Are Tanjiro And Zenitsu?

Tanjiro is the main character of ‘Demon Slayer’. He is the only user of the sun-breathing style after Yoriichi Tsugikuni and the only person in the current timeline who can strike fear in the heart of Kibutsuji Muzan. Appearance-wise, Tanjiro has black hair with reddish burgundy tips. He has red eyes and is of medium build. Tanjiro also has an enhanced sense of smell and is quite intelligent. Personality-wise, he is quite kind. Tanjiro is quite sweet and cannot see injustice. 

Zenitsu Agatsuma is a major character in ‘Demon Slayer’. He is the user of thunder breathing style which he learned from his master, who took his life as he taught a swordsman that turned into a demon. Appearance-wise, Zenitsu has yellow hair with darker tips and brownish-gold eyes. Personality-wise, Zenitsu is somewhat of a scaredy cat but is quite powerful. He is weak-willed and quite underconfident. 

Who Is Stronger?

This is a rather interesting question. The two of them are very strong, but ultimately, out of two of them, Tanjiro will win. Tanjiro has a natural affinity for fighting and swordsmanship. In addition to that, he has an unnaturally strong skull and has great strength. He also has a heightened sense of smell. 

Zenitsu is a great swordsman but he is the biggest obstacle for himself. Zenitsu is quite weak-willed and is very underconfident. Due to this particular reason, his entire strength is not generally used. He fights at his true and best potential when he’s asleep. Even Inosuke has commented on the fact that Zenitsu is much stronger asleep than he is awake. 

Tanjiro can not only use two breathing styles, but one of the styles he can use is the sun breathing style. This breathing style is the first breathing style and Tanjiro is the second person to ever use it. Although he is not very academically smart, Tanjiro is very intelligent and had great instincts in battle. 

Zenitsu is very precise in battle and is very strong when he is asleep. Therefore, whilst there is no denying that Zenitsu is a very talented swordsman, Tanjiro is stronger than him.
