Barry Keoghan is finally opening up about the rumors that followed his breakup with Sabrina Carpenter, especially the claims that he cheated.
He has now made it clear that those assumptions were not true and has asked people to stop believing and spreading a story that, according to him, never actually happened.
Barry Keoghan Explains Why The Cheating Allegations Are Invalid

Appearing on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Barry Keoghan addressed the ongoing cheating rumors that gained traction after his split from Sabrina Carpenter. He didn’t mention her name directly. However, he confirmed that the narrative being discussed was about him cheating and said it wasn’t true.
He shared how the situation pushed him to step back from public life. “I came off Instagram and social profiles. I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve stopped socializing,” he said, explaining that he chose to disappear rather than respond to a story that had already taken over online.
Podcast host Dave Burd clarified that the narrative being discussed involved cheating allegations. Keoghan confirmed that he never addressed the rumor publicly at the time, which only allowed the speculation to grow.
The actor also pointed out how difficult it becomes to handle a relationship in the spotlight. After going public in early 2024, the couple faced intense attention. It only intensified once news of their breakup surfaced later that year.
Actor Urges People to “Stop Assuming” as Rumors Spread Online

Much of the cheating speculation was fueled by viral TikTok posts involving influencer Breckie Hill. She reposted videos that hinted she had been involved with Keoghan. These clips quickly turned into a widespread narrative that he had cheated on Carpenter with her.

However, Hill later shut down those claims, stating she “did not get with Barry” and had never even met him. She admitted that her earlier reposts playing into the “homewrecker” narrative were meant as a joke because she found the rumors “so ridiculous.”
Keoghan expressed frustration that this clarification didn’t receive the same attention as the original claims. “No one seemed to latch onto that video,” he said, pointing out how easily misinformation spreads compared to the truth.
He stressed that he isn’t asking people to like him or support him blindly. Instead, he made a direct appeal: “I’m not asking for people to become my fan. But I’m asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me.” He added that the constant criticism and accusations have gone far beyond normal online chatter.
Keoghan revealed that people online even brought up his late parents in hateful comments, which he described as “absolutely disgusting and vile.” He also pointed out that videos openly targeting him with statements like “I hate him” were circulating online.
