The rape cases and sexual for which Danny Masterson had been charged happened back in 2003. The accusations started to come up in 2017 and the lawsuits had been filed by three women against ‘That 70’s Show‘ actor in 2019. Eventually, Bijou Philips filed for divorce from her husband less than two weeks after his sentence.

Divorcing Danny Masterson, Bijou Philips is putting an end to their 12-year marriage. According to TMZ, the divorce documents were filed on September 18. The reason for the split was mentioned as “irreconcilable differences”. “Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter,” the ‘Raising Hope‘ actress’ lawyer released the statement.
It also states how hard the period had been on the marriage and their families. “Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter,” the statement said. The couple share a 9-year-old daughter Fianna.

Bijou Philips Asks Danny Masterson For Spousal Support
Along with the divorce filing, Bijou Philips has asked for full legal and physical custody of their daughter. However, Danny Masterson has been given visitation rights. However, the 47-year-old is also asked to pay spousal support. The ‘Wake’ actress has also requested for the court to divide their assets as separate property, in the absence of prenup. The actress also needs Masterson to pay her attorney fees as well.
The couple- Bijou Philips and Masterson tied the knot back in 2011. They met for the first time in 2004 at a celebrity poker game. It was after six years of dating that the pair decided to get engaged. They had their daughter in 2014. However, life went downhill for the family after the accusation against ‘The Ranch’ actor gained strength.
