Saul Goodman, the beloved ‘Breaking Bad‘ and ‘Better Call Saul‘ character, returned alongside Jonathan Banks in a surprise ‘Know Your Rights‘ video that has fans buzzing.
In a surprise move, Bob Odenkirk has officially dusted off Saul Goodman’s gaudy suits and trademark earpiece for the first time since the character’s acclaimed prequel series ended in 2022. Odenkirk reprises his iconic role in a new “Know Your Rights” public service announcement celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Saul Goodman Returns to Deliver a Patriotic Message

The roughly 45-second video, uploaded to a YouTube channel called “Saul4Democracy,” features the morally flexible attorney in his familiar office with the US Constitution serving as “wallpaper” behind him.

With his signature fast-talking bravado, Goodman delivers a patriotic pitch that is both humorous and surprisingly earnest. “Hi, I’m Saul Goodman. Did you know you have rights? Well, you do,” he begins. “Sure, they’re old-timey. They were written by a bunch of guys in powdered wigs and knee socks. Boring! But believe it or not, they’re still surprisingly relevant“.
Saul then lists a selection of constitutional rights, including freedom of speech, assembly, and the press, before delivering a heartfelt tribute to the generations who preserved them. “Wow, you lucky so-and-so. Look at you, you got rights coming out the wazoo, all because a whole bunch of good people, 250 years’ worth, sacrificed everything they had for this awesome wallpaper behind me“.
Jonathan Banks Cameo and Peter Gould Confirmation Prove Video is Authentic
The tribute is punctuated by a crowd-pleasing cameo from Jonathan Banks, who returns as the deadpan fixer Mike Ehrmantraut to deliver the final punchline, “I’m Mike, and I approve this message“.

The legitimacy of the video was quickly confirmed by ‘Better Call Saul‘ co-creator Peter Gould, who posted it on Bluesky. Gould had to assure skeptical fans that the clip was genuine, writing, “This is not AI“. The video was produced just in time for the official July 4th “America250” celebration, marking a rare public appearance for a character who many assumed was permanently retired after the events of ‘Better Call Saul‘.
Odenkirk had previously cast doubt on returning to the role, stating in 2025 that any continuation of Saul’s story would likely have to take place in prison. This new video successfully sidesteps that narrative barrier, allowing the lawyer to operate in his element while delivering a civic message. The clip has already amassed hundreds of thousands of views, serving as a timely reminder of the rights Americans possess as the nation marks a historic milestone.
