Britney Spears’ March DUI arrest has drawn fresh attention after newly released police records revealed more details from her interaction with officers. The reports claim the singer shifted between moods and spoke in different voices. That’s not all. But she also made unexpected remarks during the traffic stop that later led to a reduced reckless driving plea.
Now, the latest details have added another strange layer to the case. According to the police report, Spears allegedly spoke in a British accent and used a childlike voice at times. She even offered to make lasagna for the officers while inviting them to her home.
Britney Spears’ Arrest Report Reveals What Happened During The Stop

New records from Spears’ March 4 arrest in Ventura County, California, were released on Thursday by the California Highway Patrol. The arrest eventually led to the singer pleading guilty to a reduced reckless driving charge instead of moving forward with the original DUI charge.

According to an earlier arrest report, local police received calls about a driver who was “traveling at high speeds and swerving.” Officers later pulled over Spears, who was reportedly driving a black BMW convertible. Police also noted that she had the “distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage” when they stopped her.
During the traffic stop, Spears allegedly made several remarks to officers. According to police, she told them, “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I’m an angel.” The New York Times later reviewed the incident through investigative reports, dashcam video, and dispatch audio.
The newly released records also described “drastic shifts” in Spears’ “demeanor” during her interaction with officers. Police noted that “Her mood changed from confrontational and agitated to flamboyant and compliant”. They added more detail to the behavior officers said they observed that night.
The New York Times’ review of the arrest included video from the traffic stop. Allegedly, Spears invited officers to her home and offered to cook for them. “You can come to my house — I’ll make you food or lasagna or whatever you want,” Spears told the arresting officers in the video. “I have a pool.”

Police records also stated that the “Baby One More Time” singer spoke in a British accent at times and used a childlike voice at others. The details matched the officers’ earlier description of her shifting mood throughout the stop. Dashcam footage from the evening of March 4 reportedly began with officers pursuing a driver who was speeding erratically in a black BMW convertible. The footage lasted more than three hours and ended after 2 a.m. the next morning.

One officer who walked Spears through an impairment evaluation wrote that the pop star spoke “nonsensically about things that did not pertain to the exercise”. Later, while crying in the back of a patrol car, Spears accused officers of being “mean to me” and of “lying.” She also said, “I wasn’t even drinking.” Toward the end of the footage, Spears told officers she was “scared” and asked whether she could drive home. “I just want to go home,” she said in the video.
According to EW, Spears first spoke publicly after the arrest on March 27, when she shared a message with fans on Instagram. “Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing!” she wrote. She also urged her followers to “stay kind!”. Around two weeks later, Spears voluntarily checked herself into rehab before authorities officially charged her with a DUI.
Spears eventually pleaded guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol, drugs, or both. The plea allowed her to avoid jail time through what is known as a “wet reckless” plea. It’s a reduced charge offered because it was her first DUI charge, her blood alcohol level was low at the time, and the reckless driving did not result in a crash or injury.
The court ultimately fined Spears $571 and ordered her to serve 12 months of probation. She must also complete a three-month substance abuse program. That will close the legal case while the newly released records continue to draw attention to what happened.
