Rumors surrounding whether Taylor Swift could eventually headline a future Super Bowl Halftime Show gained fresh momentum after the NFL announced that Super Bowl 64 will be held in Nashville in 2030. The league confirmed on May 19 that the championship game will take place at the new Nissan Stadium, which is scheduled to open in February 2027.
Swift famously launched her music career in Nashville after moving there as a teenager to pursue country music, leading many fans to speculate that the city could become the perfect stage for her long-rumored Super Bowl Halftime Show debut. At the moment, there is no official confirmation that Swift will perform at Super Bowl 64 or any other upcoming halftime show.
Still, the latest announcement has reignited years of speculation connecting the global superstar to the NFL’s biggest annual event. “The idea of the global superstar returning to the city where her career began for one of the biggest entertainment spectacles on Earth feels almost too perfect,” Bryan West of The Tennessean wrote on Tuesday.
Swift previously addressed halftime show rumors during an October 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she denied reports claiming she had turned down an opportunity to perform at Super Bowl LX in 2026. “Here’s the thing. Jay-Z has always been very good to me. Our teams are really close,” Swift said, referring to Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation produces the halftime show.
She continued, “They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [mumbles]?’ And that’s not, like, an official offer or a conference room conversation. Our teams are really close. ‘How does she feel about it in general?’ And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.”
Swift was referring to her fiancé, Travis Kelce, who continues to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. She also joked about the awkward timing of potentially performing at halftime while Kelce is still actively competing in the NFL.

She said, “Can you imagine if, like, he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be. I think we should do two verses of ‘Shake It Off’ into ‘Blank Space’ into ‘Cruel Summer.’”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also commented on the possibility of Taylor Swift eventually performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show during a September 2025 appearance on Today.
He said, “Obviously, she would be welcome at any time. I can’t tell you anything about that,” he added when asked whether the league was planning something involving Swift. “It’s a maybe.” Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp CEO Deana Ivey was also asked on Tuesday about possible halftime show performers following the Super Bowl announcement.

She said, “I might get in trouble if I start naming people. We are a city full of entertainers in all kinds of music. Not just country music, even though that’s what we’re known for. So I would hope to have a good, diverse lineup for the halftime show. And all Nashville locals.” As stated earlier, Super Bowl 64 is scheduled to take place in Nashville in 2030 at the city’s new Nissan Stadium.
