Cara Delevingne has finally ended years of speculation by confirming that she and Amber Heard were romantically involved while Heard was going through her divorce from Johnny Depp.
The model and actress opened up about their relationship in a new podcast interview, sharing when their romance began and revealing fresh details about the complicated situation that surrounded Heard’s split from Depp.
Cara Delevingne Confirms Romance With Amber Heard During Divorce With Johnny Depp
For years, fans believed there was more than friendship between Cara Delevingne and Amber Heard. The rumors first picked up in 2016 after Heard reached a $7 million divorce settlement with Johnny Depp. Around the same time, Heard and Delevingne were spotted together in London, leading many to question whether they were dating.
Now, Delevingne has confirmed those rumors during an appearance onย The Louis Theroux Podcast. Looking back on that period, she said, “We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose.”
Delevingne also revealed that her connection with Heard started years before the divorce. She, Heard, and Depp all worked together on the 2013 filmย ‘London Fields‘. Although the movie later became known for legal disputes between its director and producer, Delevingne suggested there was also personal tension behind the scenes.
Delevingne Says Nothing Happened Until After The Marriage Ended
During the interview, Louis Theroux brought up stories that Johnny Depp had been upset over the possibility that Heard and Delevingne were involved. He suggested that Depp “was driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you.”

Delevingne agreed that Depp “was pretty driven crazy by jealousy” while they were filmingย London Fields. However, she stressed that there was no romance between her and Heard at that stage. “Nothing was happening at that point,” Delevingne recalled. “Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose… No, I don’t suppose. I know. Yeah,” she clarified.
She also said that she and Heard were never exclusive. According to Delevingne, the actress “was also entangled with other people.” When Theroux suggested, “Well, with Elon [Musk],” Delevingne replied, “There you go.” Representatives for Heard, Depp, and Musk did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.
The divorce between Heard and Depp continued to make headlines long after it was finalized. In 2019, Depp sued Heard over her Washington Post op-ed in which she described herself as a victim of domestic abuse.
Their 2022 defamation trial became one of Hollywood’s biggest courtroom battles. It included testimony from Kate Moss and Ellen Barkin, along with Depp’s allegation that Heard had once defecated on his side of the bed after an argument and blamed their dogs. Depp eventually won the case and was awarded $15 million in damages, though the amount was later reduced.ย
