When Robbie was 16 years old and just starting to explore a career in acting, she did a commercial for the restaurant chain Hooters. According to Robbie, she wasn’t a Hooter girl in the commercial but was a customer eating in a Hooter’s location. After the filming of the commercial, Robbie was asked to become a Hooter girl at one of the locations. Initially, she thought that her career might end up as a Hooter girl but then she refused the job.
That was not the only odd job that Robbie was known to have picked up. She worked three jobs at a point during her teens while studying. When she was 18, she juggled jobs like cleaning houses, tending a bar, and even working for the sandwich chain Subway. She finally left her job at Subway, when she got a part on the show ‘Neighbours’. She even returned to Subway six months later to film a commercial with them after she became a regular on the show.

Margot Robbie’s Acting Breakthrough
Robbie made her television acting debut on the series ‘City Homicide’ as Caitlin Brentford in 2008. She followed it up with a small role on the children’s TV show ‘The Elephant Princess’. Her first big role came on the TV soap opera Neighbours in 2008. She played the role of Donna Freedman, who was supposed to be a guest appearance. Though she was later promoted to a series regular on the show. After moving across the Pacific to America, her first role in the country was in the series ‘Pan Am‘.
