Ella Purnell is the woman of the hour. She is getting us hooked to the screen with her performances in ‘Yellowjackets‘ and Amazon Prime’s latest series ‘Fallout’. Ella Purnell plays Jackie Taylor in the thriller series ‘Yellowjackets’. She is the captain of the Yellowjackets soccer team as well as Shauna’s best friend and Jeff’s girlfriend.
However, Purnell’s role was short-lived in the series with her death imminent in the season finale of season one. Now the star reveals her thoughts about living the role so early. She also talks about starring in ‘Fallout’.

Ella Purnell Regrets Leaving ‘Yellowjackets’ So Early
The 27-year-old actress talked to The Hollywood Reporter and revealed her thoughts about leaving the show early. Purnell regrets her decision as her closeness to the rest of the cast increased. “I was like, ‘It’s only a one-year deal. I’m not locked into a seven-year contract.’ So, at the time, that seemed really appealing”, Ella Purnell said.
“And then when we started filming — I didn’t want to die,” Purnell continued. “I tried to convince the writers to keep me on the show a bit longer. So they thought about it, and then they called me and were like, ‘She’s got to go. We tried. We did our best.’” At the end of season one, Jackie was frozen to death which marked the end of her character which was followed by some cannibalistic action.
However, Ella Purnell got to meet the ‘Yellowjackets’ cast again when she was called back to shoot some scenes for season 2. Purnell’s character Jackie appears in a ghost form in some scenes in season 2. “I definitely missed [the Yellowjackets cast] and I got serious FOMO, but then they had me back for a couple of episodes and that scratched the itch,” Purnell added.

Ella Purnell On Joining ‘Fallout’
Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky’s role playing video game is now a series on Amazon Prime. ‘Fallout’ premiered on 10 April 2024. And Ella Purnell was cast in the lead role of optimistic post-nuclear Vault Dweller Lucy MacLean. Before she could mourn her exit from ‘Yellowjackets’, Purnell found herself as the lead in the Amazon Prime series.
“It was obviously very flattering. I thought I’d have to screen test and get flown out and do all these things, but they were like, ‘No, it’s you.’” Purnell recalled. “And I was very nervous to hear that. My first words were, ‘Are you sure you don’t want me to audition again, just to make sure?’ But here we are, somehow.” Purnell is all set to star in the second season which will be massive for her character after the cliffhanger of season one finale.
