Taylor Swift is the queen of pop, we’re all familiar with the fact but do you know that our ‘Mastermind’ has a full resume brimming with her acting gigs? Now not every role Swift has played was worthy of an Oscar but they all definitely deserve some more recognition.
The global icon has a lot of talents and even though singing is Swift’s superpower, acting isn’t necessarily the ‘Karma’ singer’s weakness. In a career nearing the milestone of two whole decades, Tay has shown her acting prowess here and there in bits. Take it from her SNL hosting debut, as devoted fans we think we saw a great deal of potential there, and looks like we weren’t the only ones. Taylor has starred in a number of movies throughout her musical years and here is a list of the most prominent ones.

1. Valentine’s Day (2010)
The popstar Taylor’s big-screen debut came in the star-studded rom-com ‘Valentine’s Day.’ Though Swift wasn’t the focal point of the movie then, she certainly is now. There’s hardly any Swiftie out there who hasn’t seen Felicia Miller’s iconic choreography on the school field.
Now to put the cherry on top of this sweet comedy is her co-star Taylor Lautner. Yes, the infamous Mr. ‘Back to December’ otherwise known as the wolf from ‘Twilight.’
2. The Lorax (2012)
Next up we have the movie where Taylor’s amazing voice got to shine again. The superstar lent her voice to Audrey in the animated version of Dr. Seuss’ classic tale, ‘The Lorax.’
The movie is about a girl living in a city made of fake greenery and our guy Zac Efron is trying to woo her by finding her a real tree. Sounds like something right out of a Taylor Swift song if you ask me.
3. The Giver (2014)
In this dystopian sci-fi film, our favorite girl did not get as much screen time as we would have liked but she gave a performance to remember in the few minutes that she got. Tay played a girl named Rosemary who was devoid of any human emotions and if you wanna judge the queen of lyrics on acting, this is the movie we suggest you pass your verdict on.
4. Cats (2019)
You can’t spell ‘Cats’ without TS and we all know all too well what that stands for. As the well-known cat lady it was Swift’s responsibility to lend her acting skills and masterful observation of her three cats to this movie.
The mother of three seething children is seen in a CGIed furry coat as sings and swaggers to play the flirtatious feline with a penchant for mischief, Bombalurina. Despite the mixed reviews of the films, Swifties are happy they got to see Taylor in her element for this musical masterpiece.

5. Miss Americana (2020)
This 2020 documentary contains Swift’s experience throughout different eras of her career. The ‘Archer’ songstress bared her soul to the fans in this collection of her vulnerable confessions.
The megastar chronicled her journey from country sweetheart to global superstar and with raw honesty displayed what she stands for and has always stood for. This ‘Lover’ era documentary was a rare occurrence when Taylor invited viewers into her world and shed light on the highs and lows of fame.
6. Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (2020)
Taylor Swift built fictional characters, made them fall in love with each other and then wrote songs about them. Which was later called the ‘Folklore Love Triangle’. That’s exactly what happened in the woodsy ‘Folklore’ cabin.
In this Disney plus Hotstar, documentary of Swift, we see the making of her Grammy-winning album ‘Folklore’. You see the pop diva in her element in this film as she talks about her songwriting and how it has evolved.
‘Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions’ are like a warm hug from this Victorian lady herself. Oh, and did we mention that this is where she spills the tea on her mystery co-writer? Yep, her then-beau Joe Alwyn was the real face behind the pseudonym ‘William Bowrey’.
7. All Too Well: The Short Film (2021)
This fan favorite was the result of endless begging and nagging that Swift finally decided to give in during her release of the 2012’s album ‘Red’. After the release of her second record ‘Fearless’ Tay released ‘Red (Taylor’s Version) in the fall of 2021 and in the additional vault song was one that fans had been anticipating for almost a decade.
All too well didn’t just get the extra versus it had to leave on the cutting floor but also got an entire short film dedicated to it. Swift not only produced, wrote, and directed this fan-favorite project but also starred in it alongside Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien as the older version of the leading lady who was played by Sadie.
8. Amsterdam (2022)
Although this 2022 comedy was a total failure in the critics’ cabin, it did have a cast powerful enough to build a new Avengers set. A panel consisting of Margot Robboe, John David Washington, David O. Russel, Christian Bale, and Taylor Swift wasn’t enough to save it from its utter box-office failure.
Still, the bright light in all the darkness is our girl Tay got a couple of seconds on the screen as the daughter of a late senator and then we can see her being brutally killed. At least it added another name to her growing acting resume
