Kylie Jenner walked the red carpet at the Met Gala this year with a champagne-hued Oscar de la Renta evening gown. Kylie’s outfit was channeling Cecil Beaton’s photography with a strapless column silhouette with a pointed bust and an attached train.
Parallel to the gala’s theme of ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, Kylie Jenner tucked a blush-colored rose into her curly updo. The reality TV star further accessorized her outfit with a 30-carat yellow diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz.
Though her outfit seemingly aligned with the Met Gala’s theme, some fans on X didn’t quite catch the references. Kylie certainly had high hopes riding on her back given her previous Met Gala appearances that made her stand out. However, fans are disappointed and not showing any mercy as they comment on her looks on social media.

“She Looks Like A Pillow Case”: Internet Disapproves Kylie Jenner’s Met Gala 2024 Outfit
Social media is abuzz with the disappointment that Kylie Jenner brought along with her plain outfit. Several fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment at her choice of clothing. “Goddess of disappointment,” one social media user commented on an X post showing Kylie’s outfit.
Several others chimed in, with one comparing an AI image of Kylie at the Met Gala with an actual image. “She could gave us this but she chooses to disappointed us,” the user wrote in a post with both AI and real pictures of Jenner. “Too basic for her calibre,” another one opined.
While a third one called her dress “a wedding attire“, another one compared it to a pillow case. “Wow she flopped. She looks like a pillow case,” the user quipped. With one user calling her attire the “worst in the past 3 years,” another one opined that she “did not understand the assignment”.
One more user quipped that her outfit looks like a lazy job. “idk why she did this! i mean it’s pretty but it just felt lazy or last minute,” the user wrote. Another even connected it with her current boyfriend Timothee Chalamet. “Since she’s dating Timothee Chamalet , she’s probably trying to be taken more seriously…” the user wrote.
While her Met Gala look may not have impressed many, Jenner has her plate full with her business work. She recently launched her first fragrance, Cosmic, and introduced a line of canned vodka sodas called Sprinter. Amidst all this, her love life with Chalamet is also blooming as she attended the Golden Globes in January with him.
