    J.K. Rowling has been receiving widespread criticism over the past few years for her alleged comments that are deemed transphobic. However, she has got support from some celebrities.

    In an interview with The Telegraph, Evanna Lynch, who plays the role of Luna Lovegood in the ‘Harry Potter‘ film franchise, has come out in her support. “I know what it was like to be a teenager who hated my body so much I wanted to crawl out of my skin, so I have great compassion for trans people and I don’t want to add to their pain,” she said.

    She said that she speaks out “for the most vulnerable members of society.” However, she said that in today’s day and age, there is a problem “that there’s a disagreement over who’s the most vulnerable.” Lynch added that “I do wish people would just give her more grace and listen to her.”

    Amid backlash, Rowling has received support from actors like Brian Cox as well as Ralph Fiennes. She was recently asked if she thinks about her legacy being tarnished because of backlash for her transphobic comments.

    Rowling said that although she doesn’t care about her legacy, she said she “never meant to upset anyone” with her comments. “I do not walk around my house, thinking about my legacy”, she said.

    Further adding, “You know, what a pompous way to live your life walking around thinking, ‘What will my legacy be?’ Whatever, I’ll be dead. I care about now. I care about the living.”
