One among the 18 other celebrities to win the EGOT status, Whoopi Goldberg is also known for her appearance in the show ‘The View’. She had attracted much attention from the public being a part of the show. However, viewers have been quizzical after Whoopi went missing for the past three days including the premiere.
On September 5, the women of ‘The View’ returned with its 27th season. However one of the members from the host was missing the premiere. Whoopi Goldberg has been a part of the talk show since 2007 and it hasn’t been the same since then. The moderator and the co-host of the show missed the first episode of its latest season due to health reasons.

Whoopi Goldberg Misses ‘The View’ Premiere Due To Covid
The 67-year-old Whoopi Goldberg has tested positive for Covid. ‘The View‘ co-host had promised that the ‘Ghosts‘ actress would soon return to the round table. “But she’s on the mend, she’s at the tail end and she’ll probably be back this week,” Joy Behar said. Whoopi had already missed many episodes before, once in January 2022 and also for a second time in November 2022.
To put down all the rumors about her getting Covid the actress shared an update on her situation through a video message.“In spite of everything you’ve heard. I am not at Burning Man, I am not still in Italy, I am not trying to change the outcome of the election, I just have Covid,” the EGOT winner said. The actress was seen wearing a mask seated inside her bedroom in the video.

Whoopi Goldberg Defends ‘Barbie’ Amid Controversy
When Whoopi Goldberg appeared last, the ‘Sister Act’ actress had come in to defend the box office hit movie ‘Barbie’. She was voicing her opinions against the conservative backlash that the ‘Margot Robbie’ starrer faced. “It’s a movie. It’s a movie about a doll. I thought y’all would be happy. She has no genitalia, so there’s no sex involved. Ken has no genitalia” Goldberg had commented.
She encouraged her audience to tell their children why they were not taken to the movie and what was wrong with the Barbie in it. “The kids know it’s colorful, and it’s Barbie. They haven’t live through what the adults have lived through, so when they’re seeing this movie, that’s not how they’re looking at it. The kids are looking at it as a Barbie movie,” Whoopi Goldberg added.
