Are you a fan of good artistically portrayed intimate scenes? Well, we just found someone who is not. Henry Cavill, the dashing Man of Steel, recently exposed a chink in his superhero armor. He’s not a fan of onscreen sex scenes.
The 40-year-old British actor who is currently on a press tour for his latest movie ‘Argylle’ is opening up about some deep on-screen material. It’s been a while since the actor crossed the bridge to a producer and is now a patron and maker of the art himself.
Henry Cavill Is Not A Fan Of On-screen Intimacy
In a candid revelation on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, the actor who makes intimacy appealing to many viewers expressed his discomfort over it. He pointed out the overuse of it in modern filmmaking. “I don’t understand them…I’m not a fan.” said ‘The Witcher’ star.
“There are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie” the actor shared acknowledging that there are situations where a sex scene can contribute to the film’s narrative but they often become gratuitous. He eloquently stated, “There’s not a performance here. There’s not a piece which is going to carry through into the rest of the movie.”
Cavill didn’t shy away from highlighting the potential lack of substance when such scenes are merely about scantily clad bodies and not storytelling. He further said, “It can be a little bit of a cop out if a TV show or a movie is just filled with gyrating bodies.”

Henry Cavill’s Stand On Privacy
Interestingly, discomfort in onscreen love scenes isn’t the only thing Henry Cavill aims to dodge in Hollywood. The ‘Argylle’ actor has been vocal about keeping his real-life romance under wraps due to the extremely passionate fans. In 2021, he took to Instagram to address negative comments following his public appearance with girlfriend Natalie Viscuso.
Cavill urged fans to redirect their passion through Instagram, “While I do appreciate the passion and support it has come to such a point that I needed to say something, which in itself, is a bad thing.” He continued, “Your ‘passion’ is misplaced and it causes harm to the people I care about most.”
Despite the desire for privacy, Cavill doesn’t shy away from expressing his love for Viscuso. The couple has been in a relationship for three years now and it seems like they’re going strong. In the same social media stand, Henry declared, “I am very happy in love, and in life.”
