Adidas has severed relations with Ye, previously known as Kanye West, after coming under pressure to do so in the aftermath of the rapper’s antisemitic remarks. The backlash against the musician has increased, costing him more business deals.
After Mr. West debuted a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt design at Paris Fashion Week, Adidas’ Yeezy brand relationship with him was placed on hold. A few days later, the musician made anti-Semitic remarks on Twitter. Adidas announced that Kanye’s items will be immediately removed from the market. The sportswear firm has previously stated that the Yeezy brand’s partnership with Ye was one of its most successful ventures.

Adidas And Ye Will No Longer Be Partners
Adidas has severed relations with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, after coming under pressure to do so in the aftermath of the rapper’s antisemitic remarks. The backlash against the musician has increased, costing him more business deals. The German sporting company claimed that following a “thorough review,” it has decided to “immediately” sever its relationship with Ye.
Adidas, which started working with Ye in 2013, announced it would stop making Yeezy-branded products and stop making any payments to Ye and his businesses. The announcement read, “Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

Adidas Accepted Ye’s Dare To Drop Him
According to a statement given by Kanye, he said- “I can literally say antisemitic sh*t and they can’t drop me. Now what?” Now Adidas responded by doing exactly that.
The company estimates that the decision will have a “short-term negative impact of up to 250 million euros,” or roughly $246 million USD, on its net profits in 2022.
“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement Tuesday. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Are We Witnessing The Downfall Of Ye?
Due to all the recent anti-Black and antisemitic comments, Kanye West has lost his talent management, connections to important fashion businesses including GAP and Balenciaga, and other profitable relationships in the past two weeks.
Ye gave a monologue in 2016 while playing on his eventually canceled Saint Pablo tour, praising Trump and slamming his colleagues musicians Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Ye later underwent a psychological emergency while on the tour and was hospitalized. Although he has received a bipolar disorder diagnosis and spoken about his disease, medical professionals and advocates caution that his racism and mental health issues are separate issues.
He previously referred to slavery as a “choice” and claimed that abolitionist Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves,” both of which sparked additional criticism. Numerous people have also criticized Ye for harassing his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson. Ye threatened Davidson in a number of screenshots posted on his Instagram account. Ye’s remarks and behaviors have severely damaged the artist’s financial situation in addition to his social status.
