‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ was the top-grossing movie of 1993 which revolves around a divorced man who disguises himself as a woman to spend time with his children. Robin Williams dazzled the audience with his performance in the movie.
The actor was a good person in real life as well, which is validated by Lisa Jakub, who was a teen actress in the movie at the time. She appreciated his kind gesture of talking to her about mental health.

Robin Williams Was The Person Who Talked About Mental Health To Lisa Jakub
While talking with talking to Fox News Digital, Lisa Jakub talked about her Nonprofit organization Mission Flexible she was working with veterans to support and help them with depression, anxiety, and more. Lisa further said that she contacted Robin Williams, her co-star in ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, who always gave veterans a chance to be part of his movies.
Moreover, she also said that he was the first person who openly talked about mental health when they were working together. She said, “[He was] probably one of the first people who ever really spoke to me super honestly about mental health. And he would talk to me about his struggles and the things that he went through. And it was the first time that I felt like, ‘Oh, I’m not a freak.’ I don’t have to hide this about myself. This is just something that some of us have to deal with.“
Lisa appreciated his kindness and is grateful to have worked with him in his presence. Unfortunately, Williams died by suicide at the age of 63 after battling with mental health issues in 2014. He had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

“Robin Was Everything You Would Hope Robin Would Be”: Lisa About Robin
Lisa Jakub is in awe of Robin Williams and the kind of person he was. She further added, “Robin was everything you would hope Robin would be, and it’s so wonderful to think back on him now. [I am] grateful that I got to be in his presence, that I got to be working with him, that he was so kind to me.”
He was a kind person who worked hard and gave a chance to a lot of veterans. Lisa loved his deeds. She said, “So many people have told me that Robin did a lot of work with the veteran population as well and that he always had production crews hire local veterans to be background actors or things like that on set, which is not something I ever knew about when I worked with him… but I also love that little connection as well”.
Moreover, he helped her in getting enrolled back to school as well. While talking on the ‘Brotherly Love‘ podcast, Lisa said that when she was working in the film ‘Mrs. Doubtfire‘, she was a teenager and was kicked out of the school for taking time out for shooting. That is when Williams tried to get her enrolled back in school.
